Put your money where your miles are.

You know the pattern. Big plans on the 1st, excuses by the 10th. Staked puts your own money on the line and hands it back one run at a time, so this time you actually follow through.

How it works

Three steps, one month at a time. Your target comes from your own running history, so it is always a fair stretch on what you already do. No coach, no plans.

01

Your data sets the goal

Connect Strava and we build a personal monthly target from how you actually run, a fair stretch on your own numbers.

02

Back it with money

You put in £50 a month. £5 is our fee, the other £45 is yours to earn back by running.

03

Earn it back, run by run

Every run banks a slice of your £45 and builds your streak. Complete your month and it all comes back. Miss runs and you forfeit only the slices you didn't earn.

Show up, or it costs you.

No pool, no prizes, no chance. Staked holds your own money against your own consistency, and every run you log with Strava earns a piece of it back. It is the simplest accountability there is: do the runs and your money comes back; skip them and 80% of what you forfeit goes to charity, the rest keeps Staked running.

Join the waitlist

Staked is an accountability tool, not a gambling product. Your target comes from your own Strava history, and you only ever earn back your own stake. Money is never redistributed between users.

Questions

Everything worth knowing before you join.

Do I need Strava?

Yes. Strava is how we verify your runs automatically and set a fair target, so there is nothing to log by hand. It is free and connects to most watches and phone apps, including Garmin, Apple Watch, Coros and the Strava app itself. You link it when you join. Strava is the only tracker we support for now.

What if I do not have any running history?

That is fine. If your Strava is new or light on runs, we cannot build a data-based target yet, so your first month is a gentle probationary one: a conservative goal and a low stake cap while we learn your pace. After a cycle or two of real runs, your target and limits adjust to you.

How is my target set?

From your own running. We read your Strava history and set a personal monthly goal that is a fair stretch on what you already do. Every month it recalculates from how you actually ran, so it never drifts away from reality. No coach, no generic plan.

How much does it cost?

Your stake is £50 a month, or £25 if you're new to Strava or don't have enough history yet. Either way, £5 of that is our fee and the rest is yours to earn back. Every run banks a slice; complete your month and it all comes back, miss runs and you forfeit only the slices you didn't earn. 80% of anything you forfeit goes to charity; the rest keeps Staked running.

What counts as a run?

A run tracked on Strava that clears a minimum distance and time, so a short stroll will not count. We show you the exact threshold before you stake, and runs sync automatically.

What stops people gaming their target?

A fair question. Your goal is built from the least favourable stretch of your Strava history, not just your recent weeks, so easing off before you join will not lower it. New or thin accounts start with a low stake cap until they build a track record, and anything unusual gets a human review. And since you are only ever earning back your own money, there is nothing to win from anyone else, so gaming a target only cheats yourself.

Is this gambling?

No. There are no odds, no prizes and no chance involved. You put up your own money and earn it back by completing your own runs, verified by Strava. Nothing is pooled or redistributed between users, and you can never receive more than you put in. Anything forfeited goes to charity or keeps the service running, never to other members. It is a commitment device, not a bet.

What if I get injured or life gets in the way?

Life happens, so you get three passes a month: skip a run and still bank its slice, no questions asked. Beyond that, one rough week will not sink you as long as you make the runs up over the month. For something serious like an injury or illness, get in touch and we will look at it properly, case by case.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Staked is not a locked-in subscription. Each month is a fresh choice, and you decide whether to enter the next cycle. Once a cycle has started your stake is committed for that month, that is the point, but if you cancel before a cycle begins you are not charged.

How do I get paid, and is my money safe?

Payments run through Stripe, a regulated global payment provider, so we never store your card details. The stake you earn back is paid to your linked account in the first week after the cycle ends.

When does a cycle run?

Each cycle is a calendar month. You join in the short window before the 1st, run through the month, and payouts land in the first week of the following month.
